Old People are probably one of the single greatest wealth of comedy. A single old person can say more blatantly obviously stupid things in a single sentence. They are usually very "stuck in their ways" and nothing short of a two-by-four and a brick is going to change that. Old People know everything, even things they don't know, which to me seems amazing, I mean I’d love to know everything about something I know nothing about....the sheer mechanics of it are mind-boggling, but old people do it! One of the things I find to be the greatest of all comic points of old people is their awe of computers. Even not-so-old people have this same awe. A single old person can stair at a computer for hours, gapping their mouth open at the intricate and abilities of the electronic marvel, and that's with the power off. It can take several days to teach an old person how to use a mouse, add in something like Internet Explorer and their head about falls off and rolls around on the floor. However, they do seem to have a never-ending ability to use email, and improperly I might add, as hard to do, as that may seem. I fear my email address getting into the hands of my grandfather as I know the moment he gets his wrinkly hands on it, I'm going to get spammed, and hard, a kick to the testicles would probably hurt less. The best thought I’ve had on this subject, other than to just keep my email address from his grasps as much as possible is that of "blocking" his address, however, such a thing would be completely cruel and quite...lacking of character...so on and so forth. But what is in these emails you may ask, what is it that makes this so repulsive to me that I cant bear to read another? Jokes, lots and lots of jokes, passed around the old people circle, from one to another, forwarded to their entire address book. Are the jokes funny? Some, yes. Are they wanted? Eh, no, not really. If I needed a joke or two I could easily go find some, but would I? No. It isn’t that I don’t wish to hear from family but for crying out loud couldn’t they make it about something that matters? Or maybe just sum it up with one joke a month, maybe the best of the bunch? No, they cant, they know everything and to be perfectly honest, they can get away with it. We're talking about the same people that give 100's on birthdays; they are totally good for giving us the abuse...
